Activity Information and Response forms
There will be an online response form that each Pathfinder, staff, parent and staff child can fill out letting us know whether or not they will be attending every club activity.
For those families with more than one person, the form will need to be filled out for each one. This includes the Pathfinders, staff, parents, staff children, and any siblings. Please do not bring anyone to club activities without making sure that they have been signed up!
Once you fill out the Response Form and you click the submit button you will see a message that says "Thank you. Your information has been submitted." If there is a * then the field is required, and it won't submit without it being filled in.

Teen Backpacking Campout - Dec. 1-3, 2023 |
GCC Junior Event - |
Dear parents,
Just wanted to let you know that we are going to cancel the teen backpacking trip this weekend. We are going to try to move it to the spring. We are going to try to still do something with the kids Saturday evening, so stay tuned for more details. Reasons we are canceling: 1. It will be raining when we get to the trail and it will be dark. (For some areas, we are supposed to be off the trails before dark time as well.) And, rain will be coming back through in the middle of the night Saturday night with potential strong storms. 2. Also we still cannot have fires due to the fire burn ban that is still in effect. 3. Limited amount of drinking water available in creeks and streams to be able to filter to drink. We have reserved the student park at Southern for Saturday evening. We are trying to work out the details now. Stay tuned. Tammy Wear |
The next Conference Junior Event is Dec. 1-3, 2023. The deadline to register is Tuesday, Nov. 14 (midnight). Because this is a conference event there are no exceptions to this deadline. This event is for Juniors (5th and 6th grades) only, no staff dependents or siblings will be able to register. We will register adult staff of Junior units who can go, and if there is a need, we will allow other parents to register. Space is extremely limited, but we do need 1 adult for every 5 Pathfinders.
Because there is limited cabin availability, we need to register ASAP so that you will have a space. This weekend event is sponsored by the Georgia-Cumberland Conference. We will be joining other Conference clubs at Cohutta Springs for a weekend of activities. All clubs will be housed in cabins (bring your own bedding for the cabins). If a Pathfinder or staff signs up and does not attend, there will be a $50 charge to cover the conference fee (this does not apply if someone is not able to attend because of sickness). Meet Friday: 4:45 PM - Leave promptly at 5:00PM Once we get there and check into our cabins we will go as a group to the cafeteria to eat the sack supper. Return Sunday: 12:30 PM The Theme for this event is "Believe the Promise". Here is the information that the conference sent: Bring: - A sack supper for each Pathfinder and staff for Friday night - Pins to trade on Saturday evening - Must bring bedding for the cabins, pillows, towels, etc. - Personal belongings, rain gear and Bible Activities: - There will be a round robin of events throughout Sabbath, we will send out information as we get it!! - Saturday night activities include a Junk Scramble and Pin Trading (come prepared for both!!) |
"Believe the Promise" International Camporee 2024
"Believe the Promise" Parent's Letter
Believe the Promise" Commitment Letter
The International Pathfinder Camporee happens only once every 5 years. We encourage everyone to attend if possible. This year it will be in Gillette, WY. The theme for the 2024 Camporee will be “Believe the Promise” featuring Moses and Miriam. There will be awesome activities, chances to work on exciting honors, and an incredible program every night. To learn more about the camporee check out "Believe the Promise" International Camporee.
The cost to go to the Camporee will be $1300 per person. This price is for everyone, Pathfinders, staff, and staff kids. The cost includes your ticket to the Camporee (+ insurance) $235, thirty meals ($200.00), approx. cost for transportation to and from the Camporee ($625), and ($250.00) miscellaneous expenses (trading pins, t-shirts, food while traveling, and any other club activities we do during the trip). Attached is a Letter of Commitment that we need everyone planning to go to the camporee to fill out. There will be copies of the letter at the Pathfinder meetings.
We are hoping to fly but won’t have the cost of that for a little longer, so transportation is subject to change. In the meantime, we have already reserved buses to transport our club to the Camporee. We are planning for all of our club members and staff to ride the buses. If you do not plan to ride the bus with us, we need to know ahead of time when you sign up but beware if you decide later that you want to ride the bus there may not be room.
Also, if you plan to ride the bus and then change your mind, you will still be charged the transportation cost unless we are able to fill your spot on the bus. (Or, if we end up flying, and the plane ticket has already been purchased, the cost will be non-refundable.)
Because we plan to purchase our tickets as soon as possible to make sure we can get them at the $225/ticket rate (+$10 for insurance), we are asking for anyone interested in attending the Camporee to sign the commitment form and turn it in to Karen at the front desk.
We would like to have the signed commitment for all those interested in going by November 10th. We will purchase the first round of tickets shortly thereafter. We will try to make a second ticket purchase at the beginning of January, if necessary and assuming there are still tickets available. (Also, ticket prices go up in January and any tickets purchased after that time will have that fee added to what you owe.)
To confirm your space, you will need the first payment of $145 non-refundable deposit. Checks should be made payable to: Collegedale Pathfinders with “Pathfinder Camporee” marked in the memo/subject.
There are significant opportunities for you to offset the cost by participating in fundraisers such as the “Miracles” book sale, selling camporee puzzles, participating in the VM sales, and other fundraisers that will be held during the year. Parents can help with the fundraising with or for their kids. Some people have already raised enough to cover the full cost of the trip just by helping with fundraising.
Please ask your counselor about these and other opportunities to fundraise and reduce your trip costs. The following is a suggested payment schedule:
