Fall Festival – October 30 – Imagination Station
We will be having a fall festival for the community on Sunday, October 30 from 1-4 PM at Imagination Station in Collegedale. This is a community service activity that the Pathfinders will be hosting for kids ages pre-school to 5th grade. We will need Pathfinders, staff and parents to help with set up, running the activities and cleanup. Each unit will be responsible for one or more activities. Pathfinders will need to wear their green club t-shirt. This activity will count towards the number of hours that the Pathfinders need towards their investiture achievement.
Teen Campout (regular and backpacking) – November 4-6 – Savage Gulf
The teen units (7th grade and up) will be camping and backpacking at Savage Gulf State Park.
Friday - load at 3:30 PM Sunday – return by 3 PM
Once we get arrive at the camping area there will be two different groups. One group will be backpacking in 1 ½ miles to a group backpacking campsite. The club does have some backpacks to loan to those who what to do this but don’t have a backpack.
The other group will be camping near the ranger station. It’s a short walk from the parking area to these campsites. This will be for those who don’t have the gear yet or aren’t quite ready to do the whole backpack thing yet.
Everyone from both groups will be responsible for doing their own cooking. The club has several backpacking stoves that can be shared among the Pathfinders and staff. It would be best if several Pathfinders work together on planning their menu, getting the food and cooking gear and doing the cooking. This does not need to be special backpacking food. For ideas of food and menus talk to your counselors and check the club’s website under Camping.
On Sabbath the group that is camping behind the ranger station will hike to where the other group is for Sabbath activities. Both areas do have outhouse type bathrooms (no showers).
Sign up on the club’s website or tell your counselor.
Junior Lock-in (5th and 6th grades) – November 5-6 – Collegedale Church
The Friends and Companions will have a lock-in at the downstairs area of the Collegedale Church. We will have a great time working on new honors and other activities. You will need to bring your sleeping bag, pad and sleeping clothes. Supper and breakfast will be served. You can bring the Pathfinders to the church at 6:30 PM and pick them up by 10 AM.
